I have numerous hiking boots. Those that I wear specifically for long treks/hiking to those that I call “fashion hiking boots”.
For me, “Fashion Hiking Boots” are mainly for casual but when companies market their hiking boots as waterproof and they are cheaper than the big brand hiking boots, some may utilize these boots for trekking, going through water and hikes. And that is where it’s very much YMMV.
Personally, “Fashion Hiking Boots” are casual, may it be for heading to the office or going out to a restaurant, hanging out with friends, and that is my stance on these type of boots.
I am reviewing the Ouumeis Chukka Boots Casual Waterproof Hiking Boots which features a Thermoplastic Elastomers sole, traditional lace-up style and sturdy fabrics with metal eyelets.
The seams are supposedly waterproof and I think everyone should know that no hiking boot is 100% waterproof. Also, note that when a boot is marketed waterproof, as it prevents moisture from going out and its sealed in. So, it won’t breathe as well. I don’t see anywhere that its made of Gore-Tex.
The boots feature an imitation leather PU and padded collar. It also features an anti-collision toe.
For me, these are fashion hiking boots and having worn these boots numerous times, they are comfortable. And while available in brown, grey and black, I opted to go for grey, as its one color for a fashion boot which I don’t have in my closet.
I love the look and style.The gray with the burgundy/white sole is a plus as well, including the burgundy stitching on the boot towards the heel, which I also like a lot.
And for the boot at under $50 and also a coupon added, it’s a price worth getting if you like the style and you use the boot casually.
