RedThunder is known for releasing gaming keyboards and mouse for cheaper than most companies.
And to the surprise of many, they release good products despite the cheap price!
But I noticed in 2021, the products I have reviewed from RedThunder, they are much better in quality than RedThunder products which I reviewed in 2020.
Today, I am reviewing the RedThunder TKL Mechanical Gaming Keyboard and I like how they were able to incorporate the numeric keypad but yet making the keyboard smaller.
Granted, in order to do this, certain keys had to be eliminated. So, if you want to do numlock, you’ll have to use the FN + Back key.
As for the keys, it uses double-shot injection molding process so the characters glow and never fade. This is important because a common issue with keyboards which come with computers or Logitech and Microsoft keyboards is that their characters fade and you either buy a new keyboard or buy keyboard stickers.
They keyboard is no doubt ergonomic and I have no problems using this for typing and gaming. And yes, these are blue switches that have the click that I like and I actually like the overall feedback.
As for switching backlight modes (up to 19), just use the Function Key (next to the right alt key) and F9. And then there is the function key and arrow keys to adjust brightness and speed.
Now, are their any issues I have with this keyboard? For the part everything works as expected. The LED’s are red, yellow, green blue and purple but I’ve seen cheaper keyboards with much better backlight effects, but to be truthful that’s nothing major.
The other thing is the keys. RedThunder tends to differentiate themselves from other companies by having their own style of lettering and numerics. So, for those who are used to big symbol sizes, the smaller size may affect those who have bad eyesight.
But overall, this is a pretty cool keyboard for the price.
Again, 2021, RedThunder has not disappointed me. 2020, I was a bit more critical but for 2021, I’m liking what I have seen with their keyboards and mouse products by far, especially for its cheaper price!
For those who are looking for a blue switch, smaller than the usual keyboard with a numeric key…The RedThunder TKL Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is recommended!
