I have been interviewing entertainers since in college and professionally outside of college and I went from using a mini-casette record, to TASCAM devices, DSLR cameras, you name it, I’ve tried it.
But I have been wanting to try something inexpensive that would be much easier, professional but yet won’t break the bank and so I wanted to try the Fotowelt Wireless Lavalier Microphone System.
The device will work up to 70M (which is like 229 feet), granted I wouldn’t go that far. Has a built-in mic and an external lav mic, uses a 600mAh battery that will work up to four hours, has a cold shoe that can be used on top of my DSLR and has an OLED screen to show sound and also battery power.
It does allow for one to connect to a smartphone and an adapter can be purchased for use with an iPhone that uses a lightning adapter.
It also comes with a case but for me, I have needs for a longer TRS to TRS cable for my DSLR.
I have been quite pleased with the sound quality and the fact that it comes with:
1 x TX Transmitter
1 x RX Receiver
1 x USB-C Charging Cable
1 x Portable Bag
1 x TRS to TRS Cable for Camera
1 x TRS to TRRS Cable for Smartphone
1 x External Lavalier Microphone
1 x Cold Shoe Adapter
1 x User Guide
And a Case!
It’s not huge at all and easily compact that I can keep it in my camera case and most importantly, it works very well and for the price, much less than a RODE!
Overall, I’m quite impressed with the Fotowelt Wireless Lavalier Microphone System and how effective it is for recording audio, how good the quality is and how I it’s my go to device for my interviews.
