The One about the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum Part 6 (Hiroshima History)

As the next step after visiting the top floors of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, it’s time to go downstairs for the exhibit that I have been wanting to see, the main building’s exhibition “The Reality of the Atomic Bombing”.

But before you get to that, one will go through the Hiroshima History.

For the most part, the museum points out how the city was important for the Japanese military.  America knew this, so that is why Hiroshima was a primary target.

One could learn about the reconstruction efforts after the bombing and the focus on A-Bomb survivors. I highly recommend this manga (in English) available at the museum.

How Hiroshima would become a “City of Peace” and become proactive for decades to the present in pushing for the ban of all nuclear weapons.

In tomorrow’s post, I will focus on the part that really shook me up about the exhibit, which was devastating but yet important to learn of the devastation caused by nuclear bombs and that humans should never ever repeat.
