When it comes to turmeric tea, Taka Turmeric which is based in Cape Town, South Africa delivers.
Where many countries go to India, Taka Turmeric found out that only a small percentage of Turmeric is organically and ethically grown and comes in different grades (similar to China’s Pu-erh teas) and the amount of curcumin (The active ingredient in turmeric) can vary.
And so the company has learned to source the very best herbs and spices to create a a golden synergy of taste and health.
For those not familiar with turmeric, it is great for anti-inflammatory, as an antioxidant, antibiotic, aids in metabolism and supports weight management, aids in arthritis, helps heals stomach, helps soothes coughs and asthma and more.
The tea I am reviewing is Taka Turmeric’s Masala Chai and the tea is activated by crushed black peppercorns.
So, what is Masala Chai? Masala chai is a flavored tea made by brewing black tea with a mixture of aromatic herb and spices and the tea originates from India. Back then, the tea was viewed as an herbal medicine but is now enjoyed worldwide as a soothing tea.
Taka Turmeric uses rich, aromatic blend of black Nam Lanh leaves and exotic Indian spices. Black Nam Lanh leaves typically originate from Vietnam and are rich, malty with a hint of molasses.
The tea also incorporates Ceylon Cinnamon, Grated Coconut, Cardamom, Fennel, Black Pepper and Clove. And I have to say that this tea is absolutely delicious and I think of the Taka Turmeric teas, I have consumed a box of this tea the quickest.
I absolutely love this tea and I think many people who enjoy Taka Turmeric tea products, should definitely give this a try!
I highly recommend it!
