Are you planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Shibuya Scramble?
With the success of stricter security and the ban of public drinking of alcohol on Halloween week in Shibuya, the same enforcement will be taking place on New Year’s Day.
The ban on public drinking will last from 6:00 pm. on New Year’s Eve to 5:00 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Police are asking convenience stores to refrain from selling alcohol during that time period.
In addition, the Metropolitan Police will have a DJ Police who will guide people with megaphones and for five hours from 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m., traffic around Shibuya Station will be restricted and will be open to pedestrians.
