The One about the Tokyo Coffee Festival 2019 (Spring) Part 2 – HIGUMA Doughnuts

One of the biggest attractions at the Tokyo Coffee Festival 2019 (spring) was HIGUMA Doughnuts.

For those not familiar with HIGUMA Doughnuts, the main headquarters is based in Meguro, while the other location is located in Omotesando (this shop is a collaboration with Coffee Wrights).

And the difference that I saw, unlike many places you visit with doughnuts baked fresh and placed under heating lamps for the day, HIGUMA Doughnuts are pan-fried, on the spot and you get them fresh.

Also, a major difference is the owner, originally from Hokkaido uses ingredients strictly from his home prefecture in Hokkaido to create the fluffy, mochi-mochi doughnuts.

HIGUMA Doughnuts offers plain, sugar (sprinkled with Hokkaido beet sugar), cinnamon sugar, kinako (black bean salt), chocolate dippin’ (French Varona chocolate and fresh cream from Hokkaido), raspberry, old-fashioned and they also sell Higuma soft cream.  And a seasonal doughnut offered is Limoncello.

At the Meguro location, they sell hamburgers made with 100% Hokkaido Tokachi beef, fries from potatoes that come from Hokkaido Toyako Sasaki Farm and homemade pickles.

And HIGUMA Doughnuts were no doubt doing a wonderful job representing themselves quite well at the Tokyo Coffee Festival 2019.

The presence of HIGUMA Doughnuts at Tokyo Coffee Festival 2019 (Spring) was magnificent and if you are planning to attend the next Tokyo Coffee Festival or if you are ever in Omotesando or the Meguro area, definitely give HIGUMA Doughnuts a chance!
