I have used Razer gaming products for years.
From the Razer Anansi keyboard and Razer Naga mouse, to my XBOX 360 controller way back then.
Razer has since grown as a company, still is a reputable company known for their gaming hardware and still known for hardware with illuminating lights.
As Razer is offering more hardware beyond keyboards, mice and headsets, they are now offering a Razer Base Station Chroma headphone/headset stand with three USB 3.0 port hub.
I know that there are some people who may be on edge of having a headset stand but for me, I find it quite useful.
For one, I have a busy USB 3.0 hub which my laptop fan, external hard drive docking stations and other devices are connected. So, it helps to save space by plugging my gaming mouse and keyboard to it. Granted, I wish there were around four to five USB 3.0 ports, as my mouse, takes one and my Razer keyboard takes two (one for the keyboard, the other for the illumination). It would have been cool to have an extra one for my headset, but fortunately I am able to connect my headset to a port saved on my other USB 3.0 hub.
The Razer Base Station Chroma has a non-slip rubber base, according to Razer, it is made of natural-foam rubber for keeping the Goliathus speed mouse mat in place.
As mentioned, Razer products are known for having its colorful lights and the Razer Base Station Chrome has around 16. 8 million colors.
Which leads to the Razer Synapse software which allows one to enhance and maximize their gaming experience as lights on the stand will work interactively with their game via Chroma Connect and Chroma Studio. The software also allows for Phillips Hue Chroma Integration.
As for the Chroma Base Station, one can easily set the brightness level, adjust effects (Quick and Advance) and switch off lighting when your display is turned off.
And also the USB cable is long enough to fit around your desk, which is convenient.
For the most part, the Razer Base Station Chroma Headphone/Headset with USB Hub works well for those who are selective about their setups and like the colorful glow these products give. I like it that I don’t have to lay my headset in someplace and it looks a bit more organized when I can keep my headset on the stand.
It also makes it easier to save additional USB ports by connecting my mouse and keyboard to the stand as well.
As mentioned, I wish there were maybe two more additional USB 3.0 ports but considering the unit is small and not meant to take much space on your desk, it does work well for my gaming organization needs.
Is a Razer stand worth it? That is subjective, but for my needs, it has worked quite well.
