Right next to Minami-Ikebukuro Park and Ramen Jiro is a restaurant known as Brooklyn Mills.
The restaurant was created with a concept of having an authentic New York atmosphere where people can come and eat and relax. One can eat in the terrace and with a view of the park or have private parties or small group drink parties, its a restaurant where family and friends can relax at lunch or drink alcohol at the bar at night.
The restaurant is known for their gourmet burgers, such as their cheddar cheese burger, their mozzarella cheese burger, avocado and cheddar cheese and avocado and mozzarella cheese.
Don’t want a burger, you can try their spaghetti with eggplant and pancetta tomato sauce, spaghetti with mozzarella and bazil tomato sauce, carbonara, spaghetti with shrimp and Genovese sauce, loco moco, spicy minched chicken on rice, avocado and spam on rice or chicken over rice. And something you don’t see in Japan, chicken and waffles.
But for those who don’t want a meal and want cakes, Brooklyn Mills offers numerous cakes, coffee and tea.
And for dinner, you can get chicken wings, spareribs, prosciutto, maru-mochi dumplings and more. And the restaurant also offer whisky, shochu, wine, draft beer and numerous craft beers from Germany, Mexico, Denmark, Belgium, England, Netherlands and more.
The restaurant does have a New York diner feel, while I was there, I noticed a lot of meetings and small parties going on.
Customer service was great, the place was clean and since I was there in the early evening, I was thinking of what to try and I decided on their gourmet mozzarella burger.
The burger was delicious and the patty was nice and thick, melted mozzarella on top with slices of tomato and diced onions, while the bottom is mayo, lettuce and sauce.
While the size of the burger is what would people should expect from a Japanese burger, despite the New York feel, the burger is not New York or American size but for the most part, for the location’s atmosphere, calm setting and delicious food, I’ll probably stop by again whenever I’m near Minami-Ikebukuro Park.
