I have been looking for a light golf bag with a stand and seeing the black and orange, I have been looking forward to the Cobra Golf 2017 Ultralight Golf Bag.
But there a few things that are important for me when it comes to golf bags.
A. Pockets
The good news is that you get five zippered pockets and one slip pocket, so good amount of pockets to carry your golf balls, tees, score cards, cell phone, golf devices, etc.
You also get an oversized apparel pocket to stuff your light jacket or sweater and also an insulated beverage pocket.
B) Water Resistance
While the entire bag is not water resistant, the bag does come with a water resistant fleece lined valuables pocket in the side. I’ve played in rain/fog and a variety of conditions, but I’m cool with this.
C) Dividers
You do get a five-way top divider. I tend to like more dividers in my bag, but this bag is ultra light, so you don’t keep to much of your clubs (that you never use) in the bag, so I’m good with that.
E) Stand
The stand is convenient. While the stand is thin, the weight of your clubs should hold the bag upright onto the stand. But a big wind gust, due to the thin legs of the stand, may push it over. But it’ll be interesting to see how this bag operates during a day with wind. But on it’s own, on a normal day, used the bag and it held my clubs just fine.
F) Others
I definitely like the padded shoulder on both sides and the back padded support which is great to see. Also, a good lift handle. The bag does come with a cover that has a button snap down to the bag and also velcro to tighten the cover around your bag.
JUDGMENT CALL:
There are those who prefer bulky golf bags that can carry their whole collection and there are those who want to go light with their most essential clubs. I had 2-3 golf bags, each were bulky. But I really like the Cobra Golf 2017 Ultralight stand. It’s perfect for my needs and it does force me to bring my essential clubs and leave the many putters, sand-wedges and drivers back in my other bag.
I like the colors of this bag and the overall convenience with the many pockets plus the oversized pocket and also beverage pocket.
I also like the size and the fact the straps are padded, for better support.
While the stand works perfectly, we are not getting any wind to test the bag, so if it ever gets slightly windy, then I can update this review to reflect the bag during a slightly windy conditions.
Sure, I do prefer a golf bag with more than 5-way dividers on top but considering that this is a light bag, works great for travel and forces you to choose your designated and more essential clubs than bringing the whole collection with you and hurting your back from all that weight, that’s why I have been on a lookout for an ultralight golf bag and this Cobra Golf 2017 ultralight bag with stand is what I needed.
Overall, for those on a lookout for an ultra light and convenient golf bag, will no doubt want to check out the Cobra Golf 2017 Ultralight Golf Bag with stand!
