For those who are fans of Studio Ghibli animated films, there are a few locations one should visit in Japan.

The Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, the Hayao Miyazaki Nittere Ohdokei Clock and a Donguri Kyowakoku store located throughout Japan.

A Donguri Kyowakoku store is where one could find toys and merchandise of popular Studio Ghibli characters.

From Totoro plushes from “My Neighbor Totoro”, Jiji the black cat from “Kiki’s Delivery Service”, Panda Kopanda from “Panda! Go, Panda!”, gardening supplies, books and more.

Going to a Donguri Kyowakoku store is pretty much a dreamland for Studio Ghibli fans when it comes to merchandise.

Part of you wants to purchase a lot of these cool plush available, especially the big Totoro plushes but then the realization of how to carry it in your luggage, how much space it would take and so forth, kind of makes that want and “must-buy” feeling to dissipate.

But fortunately, the store offers plush and Studio Ghibli merchandise of all sizes and one can find and easily store in your luggage.

But if you want to get an idea of the how it’s like inside a Donguri Kyowakoku store, here is a video I shot.  Enjoy!
