While I mostly ride road bikes, I also have two mountain bikes and always want to makes sure that I’m protected.
So, I purchased the Bell Super 2 Helmet which received rave reviews for providing superior protection and a lower rear coverage than most other helmets.
The helmet is compatible with the Super 2R chin bar, has 23 vents for ventilation and Bells Overbrow Ventilation.
On top is a breakaway camera mount, which I can attach my GoPro, although I will need to find an adapter that will hold my camera in place.
Here is how the helmet looks:
The Bell Super 2 features breakaway screws, GoggleGuide Adjustable Visor System, In-Mold Polycarbonate Shell, Integrated Breakaway Camera Mount, Overbrow Ventilation, TAG Fit System, Removable Wraparound Chin-bar, X-Static Padding and weights at 360 grams.
There are a total of 23 vents, 4 brow ports and the version I bought was infrared, but it looks more orange than red. So, if there was one thing that I didn’t like about this helmet, it leans more to orange than red. But at the same time, I wasn’t too bothered by it, as my running gear that I often wear are orange and black for visibility.
I purchased a large helmet and because of the TAG Fit System, rotate the knob and you can have the helmet fit snugly. And I was able to wear my sunglasses with this helmet.
Another plus was the ventilation, as I wore this during the end of summer.
For me, the Bell Super 2 fit to size.
Overall, I purchased this helmet primarily for its safety features and ventilation. And it’s important that if you want even more protection, a MIPS version of the helmet is available.
And it often goes on sale that it won’t hurt your budget either.
