The One about Marc Jacobs’ Bookmarc

In 2013, located in Cat Street in Harajuku is fashion designer, Marc Jacobs’ “BOOKMARC”.

Designed by Stephan Jaklitsch, BOOKMARC sells books specializing in art, music culture and photography.  And the concept of the store happened when bookstores began to disappear from the global landscape.

Marc Jacobs opened the first BOOKMARC store on Bleeker Street in New York’s West Village and has since expanded to Paris, London and Tokyo.

It’s a place where many people can access western books but the store also sells some Japanese books as well.  But for photographers, you can find really awesome photography books at this store.

While I was not sure if I could shoot photos inside, I elected not too but just shoot a photo of the outside of the building.  But you’ll find awesome books including a few rarities.  But also “BOOKMARC” swag such as pens, notebooks and other stationary items and also t-shirts and even a backpack.

And as one can expect, with the Marc Jacob name, one can expect to pay a premium on certain items.

Call it a fancy bookstore but “BOOKMARC” is really an awesome place for those familiar with art, photography, cinema, music, etc.  And if you are a fan of the Marc Jacobs brand, in the same building and also nearby are more Marc Jacobs fashion-related stores.
