The One about the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

Right on 7000 Hollywood Blvd. and a short walk from the TLC Chinese Theatres is the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

An iconic hotel which hosted Hollywood cinema legends such as Charles Chaplin, Carole Lombard, Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe and many more.

And while events still happen at the hotel (such as the Turner Classic Movie Festival), it’s probably the closest hotel for those who want immediate access to the Hollywood Stars Walk of Fame.  Right when you come out of the door, there are stars that you will find outside of the building.  And so, you’ll a pay a little more for that convenience.

I’ve stayed at several older Los Angeles hotels and I will say that Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, despite its age, the hotel is clean and customer service is very good.

In a way, there is no reason to spend too much on food or a beverage as there are shopping stores right outside the building, fast food a few blocks away and really, it’s a convenient location.  But if you are not in the mood to walk so far, you can go to the restaurants such as the Tropical Pool Cafe, Public Kitchen and Bar created by Executive Chef and Restaurateur Tim Goodell (near the main lobby) and 25 degrees which is a delicious twist compared to a banal burger shop.   And of course, 24-hour in-room dining.

Granted, it does get crowded on the weekends but that’s part of the Hollywood Blvd. allure!

The hotel is also known for its pool which one can hang out on the second floor, which is very cool!  There is music that plays a little late, so if you are sensitive to loud noises at night, it’s something you’ll need to know in advance.

Overall, want to enjoy Hollywood Boulevard?  Definitely give the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel a try!
