In life, everyone encounters personal and professional problems. I was in my late teens and as much enthusiasm that I had in life and wanting to make the best of it, my life hit a speed bump after the death of my grandmother.
Needless to say, I was out of it for awhile, until a group of friends, professionals who were concerned because I lost my energy, my drive, stepped in to get me out of that rut.
My friends were positive and encouraging and were persistent (and blunt) in letting me know that I had to face adversity straight on.
I was also given the book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and from that moment, I took the fundamentals featured in this book by Stephen Covey and took them to heart.
I’ll always remember how much this book had an impact on me at the time and I’m grateful to author Stephen R. Covey for writing this wonderful book which inspired me but also inspiring many people all over the world who have read it.
