One of the things I have learned about going to Japan is that my expectations of going to more restaurants vs. going to convenience stores rarely happens.  Quite often that I’m traveling and covering so many things that by the time I do get home to eat, the trains are about to closed or they are too packed that the only choice is convenience stores (konbini).

Fortunately in Japan, the food that you find at Family Mart, Lawson or 7-11 are very good and you get many selections.  And for the most part, you get more than your money’s worth.

But yes, as much as I wish to eat at the restaurants that I have originally planned in my itinerary, for those of us who are low on time…convenience stores are often the way to go.
